DIRECTOR, BROOKLYN MUSEUM
The new director of the Brooklyn Museum has never worked for a museum, but few are questioning Anne Pasternak’s appointment to the second largest art institution in New York City. The 50-year-old curator has spent more than two decades running arts nonprofits, and was the longtime president and artistic director of Creative Time, known for organizing public art shows in New York. Creative Time has put on some blockbusters in recent years, including Kara Walker’s “A Subtlety,” last year, and Nick Cave’s “Heard NY,” in 2013. Pasternak begins her post at Brooklyn Museum in September.
