On Friday, February 17, Surface will present the 34th installment in our Design Dialogues series, featuring Pritzker Prize-winning architect Peter Zumthor.
Zumthor, who is the cover subject of our February Builders issue, will discuss his two Norwegian projects: the Steilneset Memorial for the Victims of the Witch Trials in Vardø, Finnmark, and the recently completed Zinc Mine Museum, Allmannajuvet. The talk will focus on the question of how to respond as an architect to historic sites, places, and events, with noted architecture critic Paul Goldberger. Surface partners for the event include the Royal Norwegian Consulate General, the Consulate General of Switzerland, and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum. The event is by invitation-only and an RSVP is required.
