Marc Newson

Before Australian industrial designer Marc Newson began exhibiting limited-edition projects in public institutions and galleries worldwide, he studied sculpture and jewelry design at Sydney College of the Arts in the early 1980s. In 2005, he was selected as one of Time Magazine’s 100 most influential people of the year and was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) by the Queen in 2010. One of Newson’s recent designs, a riveted aluminum and fiberglass chaise lounge, sold for over £2 million and holds the title for the most expensive design object to be auctioned.
