Klein Agency

Klein Agency

Klein Agency is an architecture, furniture, and research focused studio, founded with a simple promise to design and build honest spaces and objects. The American-Slovenian duo began this pursuit in Antwerp, Belgium, and continue today in Los Angeles, California. With projects ranging from small objects to large spaces, the studio delivers integrity through a rich appreciation for raw materiality, no matter the scale. The studio continues to build upon an architectural language that is not shy of aesthetics, but resists fashion and trends.
Klein Agency is a Los Angeles–based studio that has the dexterity to craft thoughtful spaces from the inside out. With services extending to furniture design and production, interior design, and architecture, Klein agency—which has been operating since 2012—is responsible for buzzy gastronomic spaces such as L.A.'s soon-to-open Auburn, helmed by chef Eric Bost.

Klein Home / Sofa Single

Bulging over its edges, our Sofa Single screams comfort. Puffy cushions hug the laser cut steel frame, creating a supple cocoon, demanding you to wallow in its softness. With its bulky front and bulging back, the Sofa Single self-indulgently loves all of its sides equally.

Klein Home / Pivot Chair

Inspired by a boat chair found in an old Belgian warehouse, the Pivot Chair pays homage to a simple mechanical solution to a problem of finding rest on a moving boat. Our Pivot Chair may not be absorbing the movements of the sea, but by allowing for simple rotational movement we make sure you are comfortable wherever you might find yourself.

Klein Home / Chair GH1

We’ve been tasked to design an effortless, elegant, honest and mostly comfortable dinning chair for one of our wonderful restaurant chef clients. The piece, now part of our standard Klein Home collection, is build around craftsmanship and pure materials - solid white oak and vegetable tanned leather are paired together intended to age beautifully with time.

Klein Home / Tall Rocker

Iced tea in hand, Sam Cooke on the hifi, our Tall Rocker tall is rooted in Southern American porch culture. While its heritage might be southern, the piece finds elegance in its lengthy back and slender lines. It plays with a traditional archetype; the rocker you might remember your grandmother rocking in, elevating it with and exposed, oversized bottom curve and slim vertical lines.

Tokyobike Flagship / Retail

The minimalist bicycle brand Tokyobike engaged us to design and develop their flagship store in Los Angeles. The design focuses on elevating their bikes upon formed aluminum platforms, all custom designed and built. The bikes engage with the platforms through a custom mounting element. A language of minimal steel and aluminum elements is intertwined with warm oak, concrete and rubber surfaces.

Klein Home / Low Rocker

Low in its stance, wide in its grip, Low Rocker creates the perfect, soft shell for release and rest. Laser cut steel and leather sling come together in their upmost purity, without any seams or stitches.

Auburn / Restaurant

In collaboration with Chef Eric Bost, Auburn stands as an homage to both craftsmanship and natural materials. As if stepping into a friends home, the space is conceived as a warm, domestic shell with the fine tuned operations of an internationally driven kitchen at its hearth. Working closely with a small team of craftsmen locally, we designed and fabricated a custom range of furniture and hardware tailored specifically for Chef Bost’s dinning concept.

Highly Likely / Restaurant

Highly Likely, completed in 2018 is a new coffee shop and eatery in West Adams, Los Angeles. Klein Agency was tasked to create a community driven interior that was both warm, friendly, and contemporary. The space is all custom designed including the featured, smooth, coved, concrete bar, banquets, chairs and tables.
