Marie Laffont and Polina Zakharova’s World Cancer Day Dinner To Benefit The Pink Agenda

A purposeful, glamorous gathering of the art and fashion worlds, shoe designer Marie Laffont’s World Cancer Day dinner with Polina Zakharova raised funds to benefit The Pink Agenda, a nonprofit in support of breast cancer research and care. “This evening was born from a very personal place. Polina Zakharova and I wanted to create something intimate and meaningful—not around fashion, but around humanity,” Laffont shared following the cocktail hour. “We are partners in this project, not because we share the same illness, but because we share loss. We both lost our mothers to cancer. And that absence leaves a space in you that is never truly filled.” Further, Laffont committed to donating 60 percent of the profits from her namesake brand’s derby shoes to The Pink Agenda.

CFDA | Genesis House AAPI Design + Innovation Grant's Finalist Cocktail Reception

Friends, family, and fashionable folk showed up to see Terrence Zhou of Bad Binch TongTong announced as the recipient of the third annual CFDA | Genesis House AAPI Design + Innovation Grant. The glamorous gathering brought together finalists Zhou, Allina Liu, and Kim Shui, who unveiled their finished collections in a cutting-edge, glass-encased setting that felt appropriately avant-garde. Guests drifted through the Genesis House showroom being served Korean-inspired light bites, custom cocktails, and bubbles. The crowd got a first look at the three collections—taking in the pieces, mingling with one another, and speaking with the designers about their creative journeys and cultural touchstones. Each finalist received $40,000 to develop their work, with Zhou earning an additional $60,000. Zhou’s futuristic presentation revealed bright and sculptural garments encased in translucent, egg-shaped sculptures. The collections will be on display through February 22.

Dorsia Introduced Its New Culture Calendar With a 16-Hour Helipad Party

Set atop a private Polanco helipad, the second edition of Dorsia’s invitation-only Sol a Sol party welcomed members and VIP guests to 360-degree views of Mexico City from dawn to dusk. The 16-hour event—complete with nine DJ sets and bites from chef Elena Reygadas’ local Mediterranean spot Lardo—served as a closing party for Zona Maco and the launch of Dorsia’s new Culture Calendar, an in-app platform designed to program the year like a magazine, but function like a concierge. Many attendees, who ranged from artists to a rocket engineer, arrived at 4am and stayed for the entire duration as the party shifted through three distinct vibes. Signature cocktails featuring Centinela Eterno Tequila, Flor de Azar, and Mezcal Amarás fueled the eclectic crowd through sets by Gallivanter, Vanjee, Omri, Riche, Nico Bernardini, Nacho Isa, Nick Morgan, and closer Parallelle.
