Collectible, the international design fair, brings its third edition to a former movie theater on the Upper East Side. Welcoming curators Alex Tieghi-Walker and Lynette Nylander, the fair’s renewed program brings together celebrated galleries alongside global independent design studios to a neighborhood enmeshed in art and design. “The Upper East Side has always been one of New York’s great centers of art and culture, with an extraordinary concentration of museums, galleries, and collectors,” founders Clélie Debehault and Liv Vaisberg share. “Bringing Collectible here feels like a natural next step, placing contemporary design in dialogue with that legacy and reinforcing the neighborhood’s role at the center of the city’s cultural life.”
At the heart of the fair, the Main Section exhibits a broad range of contemporary collectible design. Around it, four additional sections offer distinct curatorial lenses. The Bespoke Section spotlights independent studios specializing in custom, made-to-order pieces, while the Curated Section presents Human Resources, an exhibition exploring the enduring allure of the late-20th-century office. The Fashion Section examines the crossover between design and fashion through furniture and spatial concepts created for retail environments and runway shows, and the New Garde Section champions nonprofit organizations that push innovation through unconventional formats.
