At a fashion week aperitivo held at the East Village’s Bar Bianchi, Chloe Fineman brought her irreverent comedy sensibility into the sartorial spotlight, debuting a 15-piece capsule with Mother steeped 1960s jet-set glamour. Joined by her sister, the fine artist Emma Fineman, the pair translated their shared eye for vintage style into tailored cigarette pants, faux patent-leather miniskirts and cropped leather jackets, and waist-skimming knits, while peekaboo graphics and monograms tucked into linings suggested a doubletake (or two). The capsule’s cheeky names—The Wingman in Emotional Baggage and The Mayday in Fly Me Out—hinted at the playful storytelling at the heart of the collection, which the likes of Martha Stewart, Dylan Mulvaney, and Yves Matthieu East joined Mother cofounders Lela Becker and Tim Kaeding in celebrating.
