The Creative Community Turned Out for the ACLU’s Creatives for Freedom Launch

Last week, the American Civil Liberties Union announced the launch of Creatives for Freedom, gathering talent from the worlds of advocacy, fashion, entertainment, music, and beyondto shine a light on issues that stand to threaten democracy and civil rights. A stylish set of New Yorkers showed up and showed out at the penthouse of The Standard East Village for the platform’s launch, which included a fireside chat between fashion designers and co-hosts Gabriela Hearst and Willy Chavarria, ACLU Artist Ambassador for Immigrants’ & Women’s Rights Padma Lakshmi, and ACLU experts AJ Hikes and Cecillia Wang. Guests took in the conversation against the backdrop of the New York City skyline, and enjoyed cocktails on the terrace over the course of the early spring evening. Notables in attendance included Dustin Yellin, Alyssa Nitchun, Maria Cornejo, Kim Shui, Hillary Taymour, Allan Cumming, Kingsley Gbadegesin, Ella Snyder, Busy Phillips, and more.
