Loewe Steps Into Personal Audio with Design-Forward Leo Headphones

The heritage German brand's inaugural over-ear model combines precision engineering, sustainable design, and luxury materials in an elegantly sculptural package.

When a century-old luxury technology brand renowned for its aesthetically pleasing home entertainment systems decides to tackle headphones, the result elevates personal audio from a gadget to an objet d’art. Loewe, the German company that presented the world’s first fully electronic television in 1931, now turns its heritage of innovation toward the Leo: an elegantly cinched over-ear silhouette, framed in anodized aluminum, and finished with premium leather that folds flat for travel.

Behind the sculptural form lies precision engineering. Custom-tuned 50mm drivers paired with high-end audio processing and adaptive noise cancellation deliver immersive clarity, while rotary dials replace the usual plastic buttons with tactile elegance. Through the Loewe app, Mimi Sound Personalization runs a quick hearing test and subtly adjusts playback to match each listener’s unique hearing curve—think prescription lenses, but for your ears.

Thoughtful sustainability measures—repairable and upgradeable components, durable materials—position the Leo less as disposable tech and more as an heirloom object.

To launch the headphones, the brand enlisted football phenom Kylian Mbappé and DJ-producer David Guetta in parallel campaigns channeling Loewe’s vision to “Travel Beyond Sound.” The Leo is available in midnight blue and moonlight beige, but for those interested in extra sparkle, a bespoke Jacob & Co. edition transforms the headphones into a 12-carat collectible.
