Maria Grazia Chiuri has returned —as the chief creative officer of Fendi.

Maria Grazia Chiuri has been appointed chief creative officer of Fendi, marking her return to the Roman fashion house where she began her career more than three decades ago. She will debut her first collection for Fall/Winter 2026 at Milan Fashion Week next February. The move follows her departure from Dior earlier this year and coincides with Silvia Venturini Fendi’s transition to honorary president. Chiuri’s appointment signals a new era for Fendi as it looks to strengthen its heritage and renew its creative direction under LVMH leadership.

Middle East luxury force Chalhoub Group has acquired a minority stake in Willy Chavarria.

Chalhoub Group has taken a minority stake in Willy Chavarria, joining FAE Fashion Ventures to accelerate the New York designer’s global growth. The investment, valued under $5 million, combines Chalhoub’s regional retail strength with FAE’s creative industry expertise. Chavarria, known for menswear rooted in identity and community, has rapidly expanded his international presence through Paris Fashion Week and collaborations with brands like Adidas and Don Julio. The partnership reflects Chalhoub’s broader push beyond retail into brand ownership while supporting long-term, founder-led growth in culturally resonant luxury labels.

Next week, Reefline will begin its first underwater sculpture launch off the coast of Miami Beach.

Next week, Reefline will deploy its first underwater sculpture, Concrete Coral, off the coast of Miami Beach. Designed by artist Leandro Erlich, the installation features 22 life-size concrete cars arranged in an underwater “traffic jam” that doubles as an artificial reef. The project marks the beginning of Reefline’s plan to create a seven-mile underwater sculpture park that integrates art, marine science, and coral restoration. Supported by the City of Miami Beach and partners including OMA and the University of Miami, the initiative aims to merge environmental education with cultural engagement while fostering new marine habitats.

Following the announcement of Art Basel Doha, Frieze is rolling out plans for its Abu Dhabi edition.

Frieze will enter the Middle East next November with the debut of Frieze Abu Dhabi, taking over and rebranding the existing Abu Dhabi Art fair. The expansion follows Art Basel’s recent announcement of a Doha fair, underscoring rising competition among major art-market players in the Gulf. The launch also coincides with Frieze’s upcoming London events and the completion of Ari Emanuel’s acquisition of the company, signaling a new phase of global growth for the brand.

Gucci, Chloé, and Loewe have been fined by the EU for alleged price-fixing.

The EU Commission has fined Gucci, Chloé, and Loewe a total of €157 million ($182 million) for fixing resale prices, violating European competition laws. The investigation found the brands restricted retailers from discounting freely, enforcing set price points, limiting maximum discounts, and controlling sale periods. Such practices raised prices and limited consumer choice across their markets. Gucci’s parent company, Kering, resolved the case through a cooperation procedure and accounted for the fine in its 2025 first-half results, while Richemont and LVMH have not publicly commented.
