From The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering to the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, and more, Monterey Car Week encompasses a series of elite automotive events complete with exquisite or unusual classic cars and concept vehicles that flex a badge’s capabilities. Often, financial milestones dominate headlines—such as the $26 million sale by RM Sotheby’s of a 2025 Ferrari Daytona SP3, from the prestigious automaker’s Tailor Made customization program. Ferrari-related sales snagged every other spot in the top ten except for the fifth, which went to Bonhams for their $8.5 million hammer price of a rare 2020 Bugatti Divo.

That said, the debuts of future-forward concepts were equally impressive. Revealed at The Quail, the Corvette CX and CX.R Vision Gran Turismo concepts—with a seemingly impossible stance—teased the auto brand’s upcoming design language and potential technical offerings, like a power-operated roof that lifted entirely off the cockpit. From The Quail, Cadillac unveiled its Elevated Velocity Concept, an all-electric luxury crossover with a sci-fi silhouette and personalized driver greeting technology. On the Concept Lawn at Pebble Beach, the fully electric Bentley EXP 15 captured attention for its three-door, three-seat design—a nod to the 1930 Speed Six Gurney Nutting ‘Blue Train’ Sportsman coupé.
Limited releases from Bugatti, Aston Martin, Lamborghini, and Hennessey Special Vehicles were almost as out of this world as the concepts. At The Quail, Lamborghini unveiled its limited-edition Fenomeno (Italian for “phenomenon”), which features the company’s most powerful V12 ever; only 29 will ever be made. The Q division of Aston Martin debuted three convertible sports cars in its Thrillseeker Collection: the Vantage Roadster, DB12 Volante, and Vanquish Volante; each is limited to nine (all of which have already sold). Hennessey Special Vehicles’ Venom F5 Revolution LF hypercar and the Bugatti Brouillard with a W16 engine were both one-of-one designs.
Inspired by the Central California coast, the Mercedes-Maybach S 680 Edition Emerald Isle will see a limited production run of 25. The vehicles’ exterior color—Mid Ireland green metallic over Moonlight white metallic—meets a signature fragrance for the in-cabin ionizer marrying notes of the Californian region’s cypress, cedar, and sea salt. It was a multisensory highlight. Though, at the conclusion of this year’s Pebble Beach, a 1924 Hispano-Suiza H6C “Tulipwood” Torpedo by Nieuport-Astra was anointed Best of Show winner (landing above 229 cars from 22 countries and 31 states)—emblazoning it into Monterey Car Week history.
