Celebrating Opening Night of The Met Opera's 'The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay'

To fête the spectacle and significance of The Metropolitan Opera’s sweeping new commission, “The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay,” with production sponsored by Rolex, celebrity guests surrounded the opening night performance with two grand gatherings. First, attendees in black tie arrived to a champagne reception on the Mercedes T. Bass Grand Tier of The Met. Following the two-hour-and-fifty-minute opera—composed by Mason Bates with libretto by Gene Scheer—the excited audience ventured to the Promenade at David Geffen Hall for a multi-course dinner with thematic decor by David Stark Design. There, The Met Music Director and Rolex Testimonee Yannick Nézet-Séguin greeted Christine Baranski, Neil Patrick Harris, Sophia Bush, Laverne Cox, and more.
