At ICFF, ROOM—developers of purpose-built modular architecture and soundproof office pods—debuted the first episode of “Designers on Design.” This video series sets two creative visionaries in front of the camera, and lets them share insight on their practice and process. For the opener, ROOM paired Ghislaine Viñas, founder of an eponymous design studio focused on product design, residential, commercial and hospitality interiors, with Rodolfo Agrella, the founder and creative director of RADS.

A tactile chemistry connects Viñas, who is currently working on the interior design of a renovation of Eleanor Roosevet’s former home in Upstate New York, with Agrella, who is in the midst of leading global creative direction on a campaign for Madre Carmen, the first woman saint from Venezuela. Together, they address their quest for inspiration, from personal memories to eye-catching items—whether that’s a rubber band on a table, or a dandelion in a crevice.

Agrella and Viñas deliberate over color, its cultural role, and its inherent power. “It’s there for you to enjoy,” Agrella, who draws every morning, says. It’s just some of the insightful dialogue from episode one. The ROOM blog, named Tomorrow, will be the platform for more episodes in the future.
