Fresh off of his LVMH Prize win, Soshiotsuki has been named Pitti Uomo’s upcoming guest designer.

Fresh off his LVMH Prize win, Japanese designer Soshi Otsuki will present Soshiotsuki’s Fall 2026 menswear collection as the guest designer at Pitti Uomo this January. Known for fusing traditional Japanese tailoring with Western menswear references, Otsuki’s work reimagines suiting through gestures drawn from kimono and martial arts uniforms. His selection signals Pitti Uomo’s continued focus on emerging designers whose craft bridges cultural and sartorial traditions. The Florence show will mark a return to Italy for Otsuki, nearly a decade after his early experiences in the country’s fashion competitions.

A diadem embellished with 3,000 diamonds was among the bejeweled artifacts stolen from the Louvre.

France’s Ministry of Culture has confirmed that thieves stole eight royal jewels from the Louvre’s Galerie d’Apollon, including a diadem set with more than 3,000 diamonds and pearls once belonging to Empress Eugénie. The stolen trove also included emerald and sapphire pieces linked to Queen Marie-Amélie and Empress Marie-Louise. Two items—a brooch and a jeweled corsage bow—were dropped during the thieves’ escape and later recovered. Authorities have opened an investigation into the high-profile robbery, which has renewed scrutiny of the museum’s security systems.

Lady Annabel Goldsmith—the namesake of the legendary London club Annabel’s—has died.

Lady Annabel Goldsmith, the British socialite whose name inspired London’s storied members’ club Annabel’s, has died at 91. Born into an aristocratic Anglo-Irish family, she became a central figure in postwar London society, first as the wife of club founder Mark Birley and later as the partner of financier Sir James Goldsmith. Known for her warmth and wit, she chronicled her life in two memoirs and remained a beloved presence in Britain’s cultural circles. She is survived by her five children, including Robin Birley, Jemima Khan, and Zac Goldsmith.

The latest luxury brand to face tough times, Dsquared2 announces restructuring and layoffs.

Dsquared2 has announced a global restructuring that will eliminate about 15 percent of its staff, or roughly 40 positions, as it adapts to a shifting luxury market. The move follows founders Dean and Dan Caten’s decision to bring production and distribution back in-house after ending their licensing agreement with Staff International. Industry observers view the layoffs as part of a broader effort to streamline operations and stabilize the brand amid industry-wide volatility. The company said it aims to strengthen its long-term position while working with unions to support affected employees.

Gagosian is bringing an unconventional booth of Old Master paintings at Art Basel Paris.

At this week’s Art Basel Paris, Gagosian will present a 17th-century Peter Paul Rubens painting—an unusual move for a fair that typically features only modern and contemporary art. The gallery received special permission to exhibit The Virgin and Christ Child, with Saints Elizabeth and John the Baptist, a rediscovered work last sold at Sotheby’s in 2020 for just over $7 million. The piece will appear alongside works by artists such as Giacometti, Picasso, and Jenny Saville, emphasizing the dialogue between classical and contemporary art. Larry Gagosian said the inclusion reflects a renewed interest in Old Masters and their influence on modern painters.
