Avant-Garde Artistry Shines Through at the Kitchen’s Spring Gala

To have an ear to the ground on the art world’s most exciting goings-on is to understand why the Kitchen’s 2025 spring gala was the place to be last Thursday night. The evening, which was MC’d by choreographer and Balletcore founder Angela Trimbur, honored a slate of trailblazing leaders in the arts including Lucinda Childs, Wu Tsang, Jamie Singer Soros, and Robert Soros. The benefit, which was held along the banks of the Hudson River at City Winery, featured performances by dancer Alysia Johnson and R&B singer serpentwithfeet, and remarks by the poet and scholar Fred Moten and choreographer Elizabeth Streb.
