Partaking in Ananas Ananas’ Site-Specific Food Installation for Casa Laveni

Mexico and Los Angeles-based food-art studio Ananas Ananas, founded by Verónica González and Elena Petrossian, feted the opening of new Milan boutique hotel Casa Laveni with an ephemeral installation of marzipan in the shape and color of cherries and plums alongside real strawberries, all set upon stainless steel experimental tableware. The succulent sensory experience—which encouraged attendee participation—unfolded in the Bohopo-owned property’s lobby, amidst an opening night cocktail for Milan Design Week. The play-with-your-food aperitivo was one of two immersive installations within the former early-20th-century private residence, with the second being a subterranean cinematic tableaux from Crosby Studios founder Harry Nuriev, titled The Movie Room.

The enthusiasm from the evening cascaded into the days that followed, and through the show’s AIPAD Talks lineup.
