With Prada Group’s Versace acquisition, creative director Dario Vitale has exited the fashion house.

Prada Group’s $1.25 billion takeover of Versace set off an immediate leadership shift, and Dario Vitale will leave the brand on December 12 after delivering a widely praised debut collection. His appointment earlier this year raised questions once the sale emerged, especially given Donatella Versace’s continued presence as a global ambassador and her influence over the house’s identity. Ralph Lauren has revealed Team USA’s uniforms for the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics.

Ralph Lauren has shown the ensembles that Team USA will wear at the Milano Cortina Winter Games, continuing the brand’s long-running role as the country’s Olympic outfitter. The Opening Ceremony look leans on a tailored wool coat and knitwear, while the Closing Ceremony shifts to a technical puffer and streamlined layers. Every piece is produced domestically, underscoring the label’s emphasis on American manufacturing. A separate retail collection, built around the same palette and graphics, is now available for fans.

The U.S. Department of Energy has revised its definition of a zero-emissions building.

The U.S. Department of Energy has withdrawn its 2024 definition of a zero-emissions building, removing guidance that aimed to clarify what constitutes a net-zero structure. DOE officials said the change will reduce costs and give developers and building owners more flexibility, while technical support tied to the definition will no longer be offered. The decision follows Executive Order 14154, which criticized the prior guidance as burdensome to domestic energy development. Environmental groups, including the Sierra Club, argued that rescinding the definition undermines consumer certainty and energy efficiency efforts.

Meta is deliberating on layoffs of 10 to 30 percent at its Reality Labs “metaverse” unit.

Meta is planning significant layoffs in its Reality Labs division, potentially cutting 10 to 30 percent of employees in its Metaverse unit, which develops virtual reality hardware and a VR-based social network. The company intends to redirect resources from these cuts toward its augmented reality glasses, a category that has exceeded sales expectations. While Meta continues to pursue its metaverse vision, challenges in consumer adoption and mounting losses have pressured the company to prioritize more commercially successful projects. The reorganization comes as Meta expands its wearable technology offerings and establishes a new creative studio focused on design, fashion, and technology.
