Smiljan Radić is awarded the 2026 Pritzker Architecture Prize.
Chilean architect Smiljan Radić has been named the 2026 Pritzker Architecture Prize laureate, the profession’s highest honor, recognizing more than three decades of experimental work that blends architecture, landscape, and sculpture. Based in Santiago, Radić is known for projects such as the 2014 Serpentine Gallery Pavilion in London, the Teatro Regional del Biobío (2018) in Concepción, and the VIK Winery in Chile, often using unconventional materials and forms that respond closely to their surrounding environments. The Pritzker jury praised his architecture for balancing monumentality and fragility, highlighting a practice that merges industrial and artisanal techniques while creating deeply site-specific spaces attentive to cultural memory and human experience.
The art market has been hot for women Old Masters—and TEFAF Maastricht intends to help navigate.
Interest in women Old Masters is gaining momentum in the art market, and dealers at TEFAF Maastricht 2026 (March 14–19) are capitalizing on the trend as collectors and museums seek to broaden the historical canon. Demand has risen partly through rediscoveries and new attributions, with specialists working to identify paintings by overlooked female artists or works previously attributed to men, while auction records—such as Artemisia Gentileschi’s $5.69 million result at Christie’s New York in February—have reinforced market confidence. At the fair, initiatives like the “Map of Women Artists,” now in its third year, help guide visitors through works by women or pieces connected to women as patrons or subjects, highlighting both the scarcity and growing desirability of these works within the Old Masters market.
Thomas J Price’s tallest sculpture is positioned outside London’s V&A East.
British sculptor Thomas J Price has unveiled what is expected to be his tallest sculpture to date, titled A Place Beyond, outside the V&A East Museum in London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, ahead of the museum’s opening on April 18. The monumental work continues Price’s practice of creating large-scale figurative sculptures based on composite characters rather than specific individuals—in order to challenge traditional monuments that historically celebrate elite or powerful figures. Installed at the museum entrance as part of the East Bank cultural development, the sculpture emphasizes themes of visibility, representation, and everyday humanity, positioning an anonymous contemporary figure within the monumental language typically reserved for historical heroes.

Bode has collaborated with Levi’s on a Fall/Winter 2026 capsule to mark its 10th anniversary, merging the New York brand’s craft-driven storytelling and quirky details with Levi’s classic American denim heritage. The collection reinterprets vintage Levi’s silhouettes—such as trucker jackets and jeans—through Bode’s signature techniques, including hand embroidery, patchwork, and references to archival textiles, transforming workwear staples into one-of-a-kind, collectible garments.
