Christie’s appointed François-Henri Pinault as board chairman.
François-Henri Pinault has been named chairman of Christie’s, formally deepening the Pinault family’s control over the auction house nearly three decades after it was acquired by the family investment group, Artémis, in 1998. Pinault—who also serves as CEO of Kering and president of Artémis—succeeds Guillaume Cerutti, who recently stepped down from several leadership roles within the Pinault organization, while Christie’s founder-owner François Pinault will remain honorary chair. Rashid Johnson and Sheree Hovsepian are launching a residency for artists and writers on Menorca in partnership with Hauser & Wirth.
Artists Rashid Johnson and Sheree Hovsepian are launching The Residency at Casa Gràcia, a new long-term residency program for artists and writers in Mahón, Menorca, developed in collaboration with Hauser & Wirth. Housed in a renovated property designed by architects Maimó&Brosa and Laplace, the residency will offer access to a 300-square-meter studio, a study, and the largest private walled garden in Mahón’s city center. Five annual residencies will be awarded through an open application process: three visual artists for up to three months and two writers for up to six months. Supported by Hauser & Wirth’s local team and overseen by a selection board including journalist Patrick Radden Keefe and artist Hank Willis Thomas, the program emphasizes self-directed research, reflection, experimentation, and engagement with Menorca’s cultural and archaeological landscape rather than requiring a final exhibition or public outcome.
