Alexander McQueen returns to London Fashion Week.
After 25 years on the Paris schedule, a move that followed Gucci Group’s investment in the house in 2001, McQueen has confirmed it will rejoin the official London calendar for Spring/Summer 2027, with a runway show set for September 20. The move also marks creative director Seán McGirr’s first show in London since taking the helm, presenting both womenswear and menswear in the city that shaped the brand from its earliest days.
Marimekko celebrates its 75th anniversary with a major exhibition across Japan.
To mark its 75th anniversary, Marimekko is taking its creative legacy across Japan. Opening in Kyoto on July 4 before traveling to eight cities including Tokyo, Hiroshima, and Nagasaki through June 2028, “Marimekko: The Art of Printmaking – Beauty, Dream, and Love” is an immersive exhibition dedicated to the Finnish house’s enduring relevance. The exhibition is divided into three parts: 70 dresses spanning seven decades, an interactive digital installation by Japanese collective Plaplax, and a new collaborative work with textile artist Akira Minagawa, who has designed an original print for the occasion, produced at Marimekko’s Helsinki factory.
Christie’s brings the Graziella Patiño de Ortiz Linares Collection to auction in Paris.
This September, Christie’s Paris will offer approximately sixty lots from one of the most significant private collections in the decorative arts. Assembled over four decades by Graziella Ortiz and her husband, the Graziella Patiño de Ortiz Linares Collection is centered on the Régence period and the reign of Louis XV. The sale will include paintings and drawings by Wateau, Fragonard, and Ingres, alongside furniture and an exceptional group of silver pieces of royal provenance, a field in which Ortiz is considered one of the greatest collectors in history. Works from the collection have previously entered the Getty Museum, the Louvre, and the Château de Versailles.

Annecy, France has a new cultural landmark. Musée du cinéma d’animation, France’s first institution dedicated to the history of animation, opened this month within a former national horse stable in the heart of the city. Among its permanent collection is an assortment of films and archival works from Canada’s National Film Board, whose 85-year legacy of experimental animation is woven into the museum’s immersive permanent collection.
