During the second annual DUMBO Design Day, aligned with NYCxDesign, Snøhetta unveiled an official design district logo for the Brooklyn neighborhood, inspired by its architectural iconography and commissioned by Two Trees Management and Team DUMBO. The multidisciplinary studio also celebrated the opening of its new 25,000-square-foot headquarters in DUMBO, where it joins more than 160 architecture and design businesses. Louis Vuitton took over The Frick for its Cruise 2027 show.

Louis Vuitton staged its Cruise 2027 show at New York’s newly restored Frick Collection, marking both the museum’s first-ever fashion show and the launch of a new three-year cultural sponsorship between the brand and the institution. Designed by women’s artistic director Nicolas Ghesquière, the collection explored the contrasts of New York—uptown and downtown, old world and contemporary culture—through a mix of satin boxer shorts, leather tailoring, Elizabethan-inspired collars, capri leggings, and pop-art references to Keith Haring, whose graffiti-style imagery appeared throughout the collection on garments and accessories.

U.S. Department of Transportation and Amtrak have selected a team to renovate Penn Station.

US Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy and Amtrak have selected Penn Transformation Partners, a development team led by Halmar and Skanska, to oversee the long-planned renovation of New York’s Penn Station, with construction expected to begin in 2027. The selected proposal builds on a 2023 design scheme by PAU and HOK, alongside developer ASTM, that reimagines the station through a lighter-touch renovation retaining Madison Square Garden while introducing a monumental, light-filled public concourse wrapped in pale stone—intended to visually connect with SOM’s Moynihan Train Hall across the street.

Ralph Lauren sales grow on resilient demand.

Ralph Lauren reported stronger-than-expected quarterly results driven by resilient luxury demand and continued momentum among affluent consumers, with fourth-quarter revenue rising 12% year over year to roughly $2 billion and full-year sales surpassing $8 billion for the first time. Growth was broad-based across regions and channels, with particularly strong performance in China—where sales reportedly increased more than 50%—alongside double-digit gains in direct-to-consumer business and full-price selling. CEO Patrice Louvet credited the results to the brand’s continued elevation strategy, global lifestyle positioning, and strong emotional connection with consumers, as Ralph Lauren projected continued revenue growth for fiscal 2027 despite broader economic uncertainty and a more cautious outlook for Europe.

The sixth generation master perfumer at the House of Creed, Olivier Creed, has died.

Master perfumer Olivier Creed, longtime head of the House of Creed and the sixth-generation steward of the historic fragrance house, has died at age 81. Widely credited with transforming Creed from a niche family perfume business into one of the world’s leading luxury fragrance brands, Olivier created or oversaw some of the industry’s most commercially influential scents, including Green Irish Tweed, Silver Mountain Water, Millésime Impérial, and the blockbuster fragrance Aventus, introduced in 2010 for the house’s 250th anniversary. Trained at Paris’ École des Beaux-Arts and known for combining artistic sensibility with traditional perfumery craftsmanship, Olivier spent decades sourcing rare ingredients globally while building the Fontainebleau-based house alongside his son, Erwin Creed.
