Tim Cook will become executive chairman of Apple’s board of directors and John Ternus will become Apple’s next CEO.

Apple has announced a major leadership transition: Tim Cook will step down as CEO on September 1, becoming executive chairman, while longtime hardware chief John Ternus will take over as CEO. Cook, who has led Apple since 2011, will remain involved in strategic oversight and global policy engagement, marking the end of a nearly 15-year tenure that saw the company grow into one of the world’s most valuable firms. Ternus, a 25-year Apple veteran who has overseen key products like the iPhone, iPad, and Mac, is expected to provide continuity while guiding the company through its next phase, including increased focus on A.I. and hardware innovation.

Diane Keaton’s art, fashion pieces, personal objects, and more are heading to Bonhams.

Bonhams will present “Diane Keaton: The Architecture of an Icon,” an auction series featuring hundreds of items from the late actress’s estate, spanning fashion, art, interiors, books, and film memorabilia.
Divided into themed sales—including Tailored & Timeless, At Home with Diane, and Chapters of an Edited Life—the collection includes designer clothing (Ralph Lauren, Comme des Garçons), original collages, furniture, and scripts from films like Annie Hall and The Godfather. Framed as a portrait of Keaton’s distinct aesthetic, the auction underscores her legacy not only as a film icon but as a collector, editor, and design-minded cultural figure.

Werner Herzog hosted a filmmaking workshop in the North Atlantic.

Filmmaker Werner Herzog hosted an 11-day intensive workshop on São Miguel in the Azores, bringing together 50 participants who each paid $10,000 to develop short films under his guidance. Attendees traveled globally—from Hawaii, Australia, and India—and were paired based on cinematic style, language, and even astrological compatibility. The program culminated in the creation and screening of narratives, documentaries, and experimental “tone poems,” reflecting Herzog’s immersive, practice-driven approach to filmmaking.

Theaster Gates developed and curated a new Prada Home limited collection of Japanese ceramics.

Prada Home has launched a limited-edition collection for Milan Design Week 2026, presented within the installation “Chawan Cabinet,” curated by artist Theaster Gates and centered on the ritual of tea and the concept of contemplation. The project features handcrafted ceramic works by Japanese artists Taira Kuroki, Shion Tabata, Yuichi Hirano, and Koichi Ohara, including tea bowls, sake sets, and platters, alongside sculptural pieces by Gates that connect Japanese craft traditions with his Chicago-based practice. Installed in Prada’s Via Montenapoleone space, designed as a Japanese domestic interior, the exhibition blends art, design, and everyday ritual.
