While many American artists took their cues from Paris in the first half of the 20th century, some also looked to the landscape of their own country. Organized by region, “Cross Country” at the High Museum surveys work depicting rural America during that period by more than 80 artists including Ansel Adams, Thomas Hart Benton, Georgia O’Keeffe, Jacob Lawrence, and Grant Wood.
