Even though some consider Ed Ruscha to be the unofficial artist laureate of Los Angeles, he’s not a native Angeleno (he migrated from Oklahoma City in the 1950s). This exhibition is the first to focus on his Oklahoma roots—his family, his upbringing, and his discovery of his calling as an artist—across 75 paintings, drawings, prints, books, photographs, and films from all phases of his six-decade career.
