India Mahdavi is bringing her appreciation for Josef Frank’s textiles to life during Stockholm Design Week. The acclaimed interior designer’s exhibition for Svenskt Tenn is built around Frank’s Vegetable Tree print: a primary color-rich botanical pattern in which various flora and produce sprout from a single tree fit for Wonderland. In the exhibition, called “Frankly Yours, India Mahdavi,” the Vegetable Tree print covers everything—walls, furniture, throw pillows, and lampshades. Glance at the setup too quickly and you may miss three new Mahdavi-designed pieces: a floor lamp based on Josef Frank’s lamp 2326, a pewter vase, and a pewter-brass tabletop tray.
