This group exhibition explores how contemporary Iranian artists have reacted to social, political, and cultural circumstances following the Iranian Revolution of the late 1970s. The 23 internationally known artists, among whom are Shirin Neshat, Ali Banisadr, and Shirazeh Houshiary, were largely born in Iran between the late ’30s and the early ’80s. One highlight will be a triptych from a series titled “Snow White,” which was began in 1978 by the late Palme d’Or-winning filmmaker and photographer Abbas Kiarostami.
