For NeoCon 2026, the Minneapolis-based Blu Dot returned to Chicago with their Floating Showboat activation and something new to show for it: Blu Dot Graded-In, a contract-focused upholstery program built for commercial design. The program pairs Blu Dot’s furniture with pre-approved textiles from two of the industry’s most trusted names, New York-based Maharam and Danish company Kvadrat. Ten weaves—including Mode, Terra, Re-Wool 2, and Steelcut Trio 3—unlock 457 new colorways across 27 collections, from lounge seating to hospitality pieces.

“Over the last decade, we’ve seen an increasing emphasis on comfort, warmth, and a more human-centered experience in those types of spaces,” says John Christakos, co-founder and CEO of Blu Dot. “That evolution is really in tune with the spirit of our brand, and we believe this new program will help make Blu Dot even more relevant to this very important segment of customers.” It’s a natural move for a company that has spent nearly thirty years making good design accessible.
