Gen Z is really not into the always-on surveillance potential of smart glasses.
As Meta and other companies push smart glasses into the mainstream, Gen Z is leading backlash over their potential for constant surveillance. Viral TikTok posts describe unsettling encounters with camera-enabled eyewear, sparking widespread concern about being filmed in public without consent. Researchers note that unlike millennials, who embraced oversharing, younger users tend to guard their privacy closely, shaped by the risks of digital exposure in school, work, and social life. Despite growing sales, many in Gen Z view smart glasses as an unacceptable intrusion into personal boundaries.
U.K. architects seem to be unclear on how fire-safe green walls really are.
A Dezeen investigation has found that U.K. architects may be misled about the fire safety of green walls because suppliers use testing methods that don’t reflect real-world conditions. One system only passed after half its mass was saturated with water, while another claimed strong results based on trials that excluded plants altogether. Marketing materials often present these outcomes without disclosing such caveats. Fire engineers warn that the adapted tests are unreliable and call for stricter standards to prevent risks comparable to those exposed after the Grenfell Tower disaster.
