From our Miami Design District gallery and event space, Surface Area, to sustainability talk series with Nespresso at the W Hotel South Beach, here's the essential guide to all of our activations during this year's event.

After a pandemic-induced hiatus, Miami Art Week is back in physical form. I think we speak for everyone when we bid a fond farewell to the virtual fairs. And here, at Surface, we’re coming back with a bang.

The Surface programming this year will be as robust as it ever was, with a slate of talks, cocktail parties, book launches, exhibition openings, and even a designer-led menorah lighting on the schedule. (Just wait till you see our artist-driven cereal cart.)

We’ve loaded up our lineup with some of the art and design world’s most influential names: OMA’s visionary partner Shohei Shigematsu; Lonneke Gordijn of the wondrous Studio Drift; the polymath designer, futurist, and founder of Supernature Dror Benshetrit; cultural entrepreneur Ximena Caminos; NFT trailblazer Pablo Rodriguez-Fraile; and a cadre of rising talents who are pushing the limits of design, among others.

For longtime fans of Surface, blowing it out for Basel is no surprise. However, this year marks a foray into uncharted territory for the brand. We’re thrilled to announce the opening of Surface Area, our new home in the Miami Design District. Part art gallery, part retail showroom, part activation space, Surface Area brings our industry-leading content to life in physical form.

Pay us a visit, during Miami Art Week and beyond.
