Despite poor initial sales, Margaret Wise Brown’s children’s book Goodnight Moon has become a classic, its messages of comfort, sleep, compassion, and imagination being woven into our collective cultural understanding. This exhibition offers up fresh reimaginings of the bedroom objects that star in the short poem, from handwoven textiles by Liz Collins and lustrous table lamps by Samuel Harvey to a ceramic mantlepiece clock by Keith Simpson. “While subtly subversive, Goodnight Moon allows us to see through the eyes of a child, and instills in us essential tools for innovation,” says Fort Makers co-founder Nana Spears. “That’s something worth celebrating.”
