In this show of commissioned works, Dutch designer Hella Jongerius exhibits a series of new objects and woven pieces across the Design Museum’s galleries, which have been divided to emulate three phases of the day—morning, noon, and evening—via artificial lighting. Her installation explores how we experience color, highlighting a phenomenon called metamerism that demonstrates how different lighting conditions can make dissimilar colors appear as though they match.
