At 33, after a stint in the U.S. army, Frank Gehry became an architect. The rest is history. He is the visionary behind such masterworks as the Guggenheim Bilbao—a project which gave the Basque city a contemporary identity—the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, and the Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris. In addition to creating deconstructivist, visually kinetic buildings, he has also created funiture for Vitra and Knoll and jewelry for Tiffany & Co.
