The space effectively communicates cultural ideas and beliefs through written, visual and tactile forms. Layers of flexible programming, a variety of space that supports neurodiversity, integration of hybrid technology solutions, and a spectrum of both communal and individual space combines to support a creative, powerhouse team.
Rocket Mortgage Chase Tower
The Rocket Mortgage Detroit campus is an expansive ecosystem built for all team members to thrive. Our strategy to modernize the historic Chase Tower focused on refinement of the overall palette and pairing inviting and tailored textures with deliberate use of color to provide an energetic yet sophisticated workspace. Through strategy and a celebration of culture, we worked to create a space that takes care of the team so that they can better serve their clients. This community of space supports the holistic wellbeing of its diverse team members through ample amenity space, integrated technology, and layers of visual and acoustic privacy while providing a sense of belonging and familiarity, a home away from home. This human-centric, amenity-rich landscape is a place to grow, challenge, succeed, and disrupt the market. A landscape of connected spaces that reflect the evolution of the brand, elevate the team member experience, and measurably drive the growth of Rocket Mortgage.
Place of Work | Home Office
Tucked within the second level of a lovely bungalow-style home overlooking a quaint suburban lake, this executive home office was designed as an extension of the client’s permanent workplace in Detroit. An understanding of the client’s professional needs and personal lifestyle were considered first and foremost with the design team. The result is a bespoke space with thoughtfully designed and meticulously crafted millwork and furniture. The transitional stone and brass wall unit located behind the custom desk serves as a functional shelving display and a backdrop for the ever-important virtual meetings. Lighting, acoustics, and technology were designed, specified, and coordinated by the Pophouse team. The result is a uniquely beautiful and highly functioning home office.
Translation
With a focus on culture and passion for the music industry, ad agency, Translation is a powerhouse at bringing diverse perspectives together to create iconic brand magic. Their strategic creative approach paired seamlessly with our team’s vision to transcribe their effortlessly cool yet minimalistic, cult-like brand throughout their Brooklyn Headquarters. The task - transform the existing bones of a glistening, gritty historic sugar-factory into a real-life delightful blend of culture, music, and intention, a true rapper’s delight. The interior was inspired by their team’s breadth of notorious work. Through a mix of industrial yet sleek materiality, reverence to the historic architectural shell, and a landscape to ideate, collaborate, and elevate, the space brings continuity and innovation to life.
The Traver
Taking cues from the rusticated simplicity of the exterior architecture and merging them with modernized furniture and lighting of similar decorative geometries, the contemporary classic environment of the Traver Lobby is simultaneously historic and undeniably of its time. The custom terrazzo flooring and barrel-vaulted ceiling mimic existing architectural motifs, while creating an impactful and memorable procession from the historic Woodward entry to the custom-designed guest reception. Curated furniture, artwork and signage details complete the timeless design, offering guests a fully-immersive architectural experience.
