DESIGNER OF THE DAY

Designer of the Day: Arno Declercq

Born into an artistic family, Arno Declercq honed his creative appetite young, having already operated an independent gallery and launched his own brand of artisanal home accessories in his early 20s. The Belgian designer, who recently made his United States debut at Garde Los Angeles, now expertly handcrafts stylish objects that temper reverence for history with cutting-edge material experimentation, such as treating burnt Belgian Oak with black stain and wax to create a deep textural patina.
