Stephanie Goto's #NYCRestaurantWeek Picks

The architect and designer behind numerous New York restaurants shares her essential stops during the two-week culinary event.

My neighborhood canteen is ABC Kitchen. It’s a modern oasis in the Flatiron where industrial meets antique curiosities, and an inspiration to keep things fresh with menu items like shaved raw fuke and ginger lime soda.

I’m attracted to Brooklyn even more than usual thanks to Williamsburg’s Leuca. Ordering the fennel salad and malfadini pasta is like driving in a classic Fiat to Puglia with chef Andrew Carmellini, a glass of Vermentino waiting on arrival.

Morimoto in Chelsea is still at the top. Sit in the elevated dining area with a view of the bottle wall; it’s a perfect complement to a sushi combo and junmai sake. I should know, I designed the space with Tadao Ando!
