Here, we ask designers to take a selfie and give us an inside look at their life.
Occupation: Floral Designer.
Instagram: @tulipinadesign
Home Town: Tehran, Iran.
Studio Location: New York and Como, Italy.
Describe what you make: I create art with flowers.
The most important thing you’ve designed to date: I recently designed a wedding at Le Mont Saint-Michel in France, the first wedding in its 1,000-year history.
Describe the problem your work solves: My work fundamentally changes a space and the mood of those who enter that space. You can physically observe the increase in joy and happiness on people’s faces when they encounter a room that has been transformed with flowers.
Share the project you are working on now: We have several upcoming events, but the two receiving the most focus are large projects in Macau and Ireland.
What you absolutely have to have in your studio: Floral pin frogs (kenzan), good floral shears, and Bach playing through the speaker.
What you do when you’re not working: I play the piano, garden, travel, relax with my dog, and spend time with my family.
Sources of creative envy (dead or alive): I don’t envy anyone, but admire Bach, Julia Child, Freddy Mercury, Michael Jackson, Constance Spry, Ennio Morricone, Quentin Tarantino, Beethoven, and Harry Styles.
The distraction you want to eliminate: My phone.
Concrete or marble? Marble.
