Hannah Traore Gallery Marks New Beginnings in Manhattan

On January 20, New Yorkers braved the frigid winter weather to celebrate the opening of Hannah Traore Gallery in the Lower East Side. The gallery, which advocates for and uplifts creative talents often marginalized from mainstream narratives, kicked off with two exhibitions: “Hues,” a group show addressing artists of color working with color, and “Mi Casa Su Casa,” an installation curated by Hassan Hajjaj that features Moroccan artists. Afterward, close friends of the gallery meandered to an intimate after-party at The Standard East Village, where they danced at NO BAR. Notable guests included Antwaun Sargent, Arielle Bob-Willis, Isolde Brielmaier, Tyler Mitchell, and Rashid Johnson, among others. Photos by Mike Vitelli/BFA.
