Soho House Chicago and Frieze Magazine Invited the Art World to Celebrate EXPO Chicago

Amidst a milestone EXPO art fair—featuring strong sales and nearly 35,000 attendees—Soho House Chicago welcomed 'frieze' magazine into its enveloping, eclectic environs for a co-hosted celebration of the city’s art week. The grand private gathering—to usher in the latest issue of EXPO magazine—was one of many artful events Soho House programmed as the city’s artistic ecosystem came to life. “The House truly serves as a microcosm of the city in a way that reflects the values that hold so much appeal,” Anakena Paddon, Soho House’s Art Collection Manager, tells Surface. “In that sense, celebrating EXPO Chicago at the House feels like a natural extension of the values and intention behind the Soho House art collection, with a shared focus on supporting artists and creating space for meaningful connection and exchange.” The evening saw Chicago–based artists and gallerists mingle with members of the Soho House, EXPO, and Frieze teams as well as guests drawn from the international arts community. The culinary escapade was followed by a festive "house party." Outside of the lush evening, Paddon directed a conversation titled "Secrets of the Soho House Mexico City Collection" and led a tour of EXPO for Soho House members.
