It’s assumed that no bent-wire chair is comfortable to sit in. (Sorry, Charles and Ray Eames.) But SP01’s Chee collection begs to differ. Made in Italy and designed by Tom Fereday for the Australian furniture brand, these chairs and stools have a wide stance and a friendly presence I’d welcome as a guest at my dining table. Each one’s powder-coated frame and seat, formed by overlapping steel rods, creates a loopy, geometric pattern akin to one produced by your childhood Spirograph. The chairs’ airy structure is the key to its spine- and behind-friendly seat, resulting in a spiffy place to lounge in for hours on end, indoors or out.
