The NYFF Filmmakers Lounge Hosted Janus Films' 70th Anniversary Cocktail

Few filmic institutions have expanded the discourse on cinema in the U.S. quite like Janus Films, the motion picture distribution company that introduced American audiences to acclaimed works by international auteurs Ingmar Bergman, Federico Fellini, Akira Kurosawa, François Truffaut, and more. To celebrate its 70th anniversary, and its films represented within the 64th New York Film Festival (including Paul Thomas Anderson’s "Cameron Winter at Carnegie Hall," Alain Gomis’ "DAO," and the world premiere of a new 4K Restoration of Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger’s "Gone to Earth"), the influential distributor hosted a cocktail inside the NYFF Filmmakers Lounge, supported by Rolex, inviting VIP guests and Janus Films executives, as well as senior leadership from Film at Lincoln Center and longtime partner The Criterion Collection. For NYFF64, the custom-designed filmmaker’s lounge was housed in the East Room of Lincoln Ristorante. With Lincoln Center as a backdrop beyond floor-to-ceiling windows, the exclusive venue hosted top talent throughout the festival’s duration, and was one of several expressions of Rolex’s role as presenting partner.
