Extreme weather events are propelling governments, cities, developers, and designers around the world to question our ability to confront the repercussions of climate change and natural disasters. In order to survive, we must adapt and become resilient despite these shocks—a path that will require emergency shelter and long-term housing solutions for large populations. Featuring works by the likes of Alejandro Aravena, Daan Roosegaarde, and Terreform One, this timely exhibition highlights four key characteristics of survival architecture: circular materials, moveability, forward-thinking ideas, and resilient structures that can adapt to dynamic circumstances.
