CULTURE CLUB

761 Madison Avenue, Meet Thom Sweeney

The London tailoring house favored by Leonardo DiCaprio, Glen Powell, and Michael Fassbender has taken Armani’s former Upper East Side space for its first flagship—4,100 square feet across two floors, making it the brand's largest location outside London. To celebrate the occasion, co-founders Thom Whiddett and Luke Sweeney hosted a cocktail party that drew a well-dressed crowd of culturati. There, on the ground floor, guests mingled within the main retail space as well as Sol's, a cocktail bar and lounge named in tribute to hotelier Sol Kerzner, who is Sweeney's father-in-law. The lower level, given over entirely to tailoring and private consultations, is anchored by a year-long residency from Savile Row–trained cutter Max Whitaker. Custom chrome fixtures, lacquered walnut, French limestone flooring, and vintage Sergio Mazza sconces dressed the space, which feels, as co-founder Luke Sweeney puts it, "relaxed and easy.”
