On a verdant runway, woven between towering sculptural works—from Tal Streeter’s Endless Column (1968) through Alexander Liberman’s Adonai (1970–71) and Alexander Calder’s The Arch (1975)—Collina Strada introduced “Detour,” a 33-look collection of organza feathers, recycled sequins, ruffles, and draping. For the label, founded by Hillary Taymour and based and manufactured in New York, spring/summer 2027 is defined by reshaped, wearable volumes and a dialogue between garment, wearer, and destination.
Collina Strada Presents “Detour” at Storm King Art Center

“We wanted to make a show that wasn’t just hosted by a museum, but inspired by the way you experience one,” Taymour shared. “I’ve always thought of clothing as a sculptural practice. Fabrics and materials move, stretch, collapse, grow, and transform with the bodies that inhabit them. A garment can change the way you move through the world and in turn change your direction.”
Taymour did more than follow one ensemble composed entirely purple chrysanthemum satin with another that coupled sand stripe poplin with chocolate moiré. She set Storm King as the backdrop of an entire Collina Strada world—from a custom, artful, floating Golden Matcha bar by Blank Street to a kombucha collaboration with Synergy, complementary Pokémon cards from Bleecker Trading, and even a surprise Carly Rae Jepsen performance on the runway, which concluded with all of the models racing toward the pop star. Even after all of that, one final surprise remained: an outdoor after party assembled around Collina Strada’s brand-new home furnishing line in partnership with Layered.
