At MoMA PS1, La Prairie’s Evening of Caviar, Cobalt, and Culture

On September 1, La Prairie hosted an evening of art and gastronomy at MoMA PS1 to celebrate the launch of the brand’s latest innovation: Skin Caviar Nighttime Oil. The event was co-hosted by filmmakers and Rodarte founders Kate and Laura Mulleavy, who spoke in a lively panel discussion about Niki de Saint Phalle. More than 70 guests enjoyed private tours of the soon-to-close “Niki de Saint Phalle: Structures for Life” exhibition, the beloved French-American artist’s first major stateside retrospective. A three-course caviar-inspired dinner prepared by the James Beard Award–winning chef Daniela Soto-Innes followed in honor of the Swiss skincare brand’s Skin Caviar collection, the packaging of which was directly inspired de Saint Phalle’s frequent use of a deep cobalt blue. Torrential downpours didn’t dampen the evening’s festive mood, which was enjoyed by notables such as Pari Ehsan, Alice Gao, Japanese Breakfast, and Elena Soboleva, among others.
