Prestigious luxury outerwear brand Mackage’s latest cultural project turns its attention to the women moving through New York’s art world, from the gallery spaces defining conversations to the artists and curators influencing how culture is collected and experienced. The series brings together Hannah Traore, founder of Hannah Traore Gallery; Lily Mortimer, a director at David Zwirner; independent curator Brooke Wise; painter Fong Min Liao; and Caitlin Donovan, Head of Sales at Pharrell Williams–founded auction house Joopiter. The five women offer distinct perspectives on the city, their practices, and the personal references that inform their work.
Mackage Profiles Five Women Shaping New York’s Art World

Interviewed by writer and cultural commentator Isaac Hindin-Miller, the conversations move beyond traditional career narratives and toward the details that reveal character. For Traore, it is Orchard Street, the Lower East Side block where her gallery is located, that captures her connection to New York. Mortimer describes her style as inspired by “my grandmother, who is much cooler than I’ll ever be,” while Wise approaches fashion with humor, describing her look as “a sexy female inspector gadget.”
Styled alongside pieces from their own wardrobes, Mackage’s signature trench becomes less a uniform than a framework for individuality. Each woman interprets the same silhouette through her own perspective, reflecting the personal histories, influences, and environments that shape her. The result is a portrait of New York’s art community told through the women building it, one street, gallery, studio, and conversation at a time.
