The Guggenheim will premiere “Taryn Simon | Father Country I Do Love You,” a milestone exhibition marking the first time the museum has dedicated its entire rotunda to a single photography-based artist and the largest debut of new work it has ever staged. Nearly ten years in development, the show is made up of 42 interconnected pieces spanning photography, video, text, and sculpture. The works—which integrate personal stories, a first for her practice—follow the life of an unnamed federal agent whose actions quietly ripple outward into world events.
