Twin Barns at The Staats House—two 19th-century agricultural structures restored by BarlisWedlick Architects and overlooking the Hudson River—will host the group exhibition “Edge Effect,” featuring work by artists Margot Becker, Trenton Duerksen, Eric Wolf, and Daniele Frazier. Alix Becker, co-founder of Twin Barns, organized the show with Frazier, who curated the exhibition. Its title refers to an ecological threshold defined by density and flux; as such, the works address these conceptual margins. From the tonality of Wolf’s monochromatic paintings to the ephemerality of Becker’s textile pieces, the salvaged materiality of Duerksen’s sculptures, and Frazier’s filmic subversion of an indoor breeze, a dialogue is forged from a position on the cusp.
