In alignment with Zona Maco, Georgina Pounds Gallery will make its debut in Roma Norte with a coupling of exhibitions. Commencing on February 4, the neo-classical space will present “Monsters Paradise: The Becoming of Her Divine Beast,” the first solo show in Mexico City by British painter Vanessa Raw, as well as a contemporary art group exhibit, titled “A Selection of Works,” co-curated by Constantin Nakov. Punctuating the cultural clout of the gallery, however, is a selection of books by La Joplin and a furniture installation curated by Mexico City and Los Angeles-based architectural studio and design brand ATRA Form Gallery.
ATRA Form Gallery’s Mythic Zona Maco Design Curation

For ATRA, the exhibition (which will run through March 22) is both personal and conceptually aligned. “While Georgina has been part of our world for over a decade, what matters most in this collaboration is the shared sensibility: a belief in creating work that holds cultural weight across time,” ATRA founder Alexander Díaz Andersson tells Surface. “Georgina’s program bridges contemporary art with classical works, and that same dialogue between the enduring and the new is central to how we think about design at ATRA.”
The presentation—curated by Michelle Díaz Andersson, Alexander’s sister—traces a line through the brand’s evolution. “It begins with some of the very first pieces we ever designed, including the Femur chair, and moves toward more recent work such as the Continuum table, finished in a custom green lacquer,” the founder continues. “Placed within the context of Georgina’s exhibition, the pieces become part of a larger conversation: how objects, whether furniture or art, carry meaning forward.”
“It’s a reflection of the gallery’s vision, where contemporary voices like Vanessa Raw exist in direct dialogue with classical figures such as Leonora Carrington,” Díaz Andersson concludes. “The result is not a nostalgic look back, but a continuity. Work made to last, and to remain relevant as time changes around.” Both practices engage with myth-driven narrative—and value craft, expression, and engagement. Outside of Roma Norte, Georgina Pounds Gallery is also participating in the Zona Maco 2026 fair—with a joint booth alongside Carl Freedman Gallery.
