Birkenstock and Etro Unveil Their First-Ever Collaboration

Drawing on its unmistakable pattern, the Italian brand puts its own spin on two of the German label's bestsellers: the Boston and the Gizeh.

Birkenstock and Etro have officially launched their first collaboration. Although the collection was unveiled during Etro’s Fall/Winter 2026 runway show at Milan Fashion Week, it now rolls out globally, presenting a conversation between Birkenstock’s functional design and Etro’s artisanal heritage and bold aesthetics.

Marking the collaboration’s first chapter, the collection reimagines two of Birkenstock’s most recognized silhouettes: the Boston and the Gizeh. Originally launched in 1976 and celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, the Boston clog is embellished with Etro’s celebrated patterns, while the Gizeh, the thong sandal introduced in 1983, is reinterpreted in premium suede and nappa leather.

The collection incorporates paisley motifs, rich textures, and intricate detailing through embroidered accents, long fringe, custom Western-inspired buckles, and even Pegasus-branded rivets. Each style retains Birkenstock’s cork-latex footbed, fully wrapped in tonal leather. The design extends even to the outsole, where Birkenstock’s bone-pattern tread pairs with Etro’s paisley print, making it distinctly visible with every step.
