Last Night at “The Aesthetics of Matter” Cocktail Gala

Ahead of Volta 2018, opening March 7 at Pier 90, Mickalene Thomas and Racquel Chevremont celebrate their thematic exhibition in the art fair's Curated Section dedicated to the art of collage. Titled “The Aesthetic of Matter,” the co-curated selection showcases paintings, sculpture, photography, video, text, and printed works that explore collage as a form. Last night, the pair hosted a private party at New York's Edition Hotel with music by Jerome LaMaar and friends Derrick Adams, Jenna Lyons, Kennedy Yanko, Kerby Jean-Raymond, and more.
